We stayed in bed so long I watched the hours dance across your skin in light and shadow. 

Until the light turned rich with reds and purples while the sun slowly went to sleep we stayed awake.

Though the charging clouds covered the deepest blue skies spotted with white and covered the moon spilling blue gray tints over every surface, we stayed awake.

Until our world was covered in fresh water that reflect light in brilliant blues or Oranges but inside the drops on the window create shadows of moving water along our bodies from the street lights.

We stayed awake to watch them activate the skin, tracing the motions with our fingers over the bodies landscapes until our eyes grow heavy.

slipping into a dream where we do it all again, we stayed awake.
